Self Tape Partner began with a problem many actors know: being ready to rehearse or record a scene, but not having a reader available at that moment.
That practical barrier can take time and focus away from the acting. Self Tape Partner was created so the actor can work when they are ready, while the interpretation, choices and performance remain entirely their own.

Nicolai brought the problem from inside the actor's workflow. Christine helps turn that real need into a product actors can use when they are ready to work.

Self Tape Partner grew out of a frustration Nicolai had faced again and again as an actor. He could be ready to work, know what he wanted to explore and have a deadline approaching, yet still be unable to begin because no reader was available at the same time.
That dependency could shape the entire process. Instead of working when he felt focused and ready, he had to fit the scene around someone else's schedule, pace and availability. For a self-tape, where the recording may be the only performance casting sees, that loss of time and control matters.
Nicolai wanted actors to be able to begin when they were ready, repeat the scene as many times as needed, explore different choices and record without rushing another person or waiting for two schedules to align.
His role is to keep Self Tape Partner grounded in the reality of acting. He leads product direction, brand and communication, ensuring that every decision begins with the actor's actual workflow rather than simply with what the technology can do.

Self Tape Partner needed more than an idea. It needed to become a functioning product actors could rely on when working with a real scene.
Christine works on developing Self Tape Partner and turning the actor's workflow into a practical product experience.
Together, Nicolai and Christine combine direct experience of self-tapes with the work required to build a stable and reliable product.
Why we are building Self Tape Partner
A self-tape should not have to wait because no reader is available.
Actors need space to understand the scene, test different choices and repeat the work until the performance feels ready. But that process often depends on coordinating with another person's schedule, energy and pace. When the deadline is close, that practical problem can take time and focus away from the acting itself.
Self Tape Partner is being built to give the actor more control over that process. The actor can prepare the scene, shape the reader's timing and work through it at their own pace, then record when they are ready rather than merely when someone else is free.
The reader supports the scene. The interpretation, instinct, choices and performance remain entirely with the actor.
Our aim is simple: remove the practical barrier of finding a reader and create a tool actors can trust when the self-tape matters.
