1. The Self Tape Partner service
Self Tape Partner is a practical tool for actors who need a reader while rehearsing, exploring a scene or recording a self-tape.
The service may allow you to add a scene, review detected characters and lines, choose your role, configure the reader and work through the scene at your own pace.
Self Tape Partner supports the actor's process. It does not replace acting coaches, teachers, casting professionals, human scene partners or professional legal advice.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into an agreement to use Self Tape Partner. If you are not legally able to enter into an agreement independently, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Information connected to your account must be accurate and kept reasonably up to date. You are responsible for protecting your login details and for activity performed through your account.
Contact us promptly if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Permitted use
Self Tape Partner may be used for lawful personal, educational and professional acting-related purposes, including rehearsal and self-tape preparation or recording.
Your right to use the service is personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and subject to these Terms. You do not acquire ownership of the app, website, software, visual identity or underlying technology.
4. Your scripts and other content
You retain ownership of the scripts, text, audio, video and other material that you add to Self Tape Partner.
You give us only the limited permission necessary to process that material and provide the service you request. This permission does not transfer ownership of your material to Self Tape Partner.
Uploading material does not give us permission to publish, sell or use it for marketing. It also does not give us permission to use your scripts, audio or video to train AI models. Any such use would require a separate and clear agreement or consent.
Support does not automatically receive access to the contents of your scripts. If material is needed to investigate a problem, you must actively choose to provide it.
5. Copyright and permission to use material
You are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to upload and use every script, audition side, recording or other item you add to Self Tape Partner.
Do not upload material that infringes copyright, confidentiality obligations, privacy rights, contractual restrictions or other third-party rights.
Material may be restricted, removed or disabled if we reasonably believe that it violates these Terms, infringes another person's rights or must be removed to comply with applicable law.
Copyright concerns and reports are handled according to our Copyright Policy.
6. Automated processing and reader output
Self Tape Partner may use automated processing to identify characters, dialogue, punctuation and other elements in a scene.
Automated results may contain mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing the scene, correcting detected characters or lines and confirming that the reader setup is appropriate before relying on it during rehearsal or recording.
Keep your own copy of important scripts and audition material. Self Tape Partner should not be treated as the only storage location for material you need to retain.
7. Prohibited use
You may not use Self Tape Partner to:
- Upload or distribute unlawful, infringing, abusive or malicious material.
- Violate copyright, confidentiality, privacy or other third-party rights.
- Attempt to access another user's account, scripts or private material without permission.
- Interfere with the security, stability or operation of the service.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, resell or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use automated tools to overload, scrape or extract data from the service without written permission.
- Use the service for fraud, impersonation, harassment or other harmful conduct.
8. Purchases, subscriptions and app stores
Where Self Tape Partner offers a paid plan, subscription, trial or other purchase, the applicable price, billing period and purchase conditions will be shown before you confirm the transaction.
Purchases processed through an app store or another payment provider may also be subject to that provider's terms, billing rules, renewal settings and cancellation process.
Refunds, cancellations and withdrawal rights are handled in accordance with the terms shown at purchase, the applicable payment provider's rules and any mandatory consumer rights.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to make Self Tape Partner stable and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that every function will always be available without interruption or error.
Access may occasionally be limited because of maintenance, security issues, technical problems, third-party services or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may update, improve, replace or discontinue parts of the service. Where a change materially affects an active paid service, we will provide information as required by applicable law.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Self Tape Partner at any time. Account deletion instructions are available on the Delete Account page.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with legal obligations or respond to a serious violation of these Terms.
Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue.
11. Acting and casting outcomes
Self Tape Partner provides a reader and practical tools for working with a scene. The service does not guarantee that a performance will improve, that a self-tape will be accepted or that an actor will receive an audition, callback or role.
Creative interpretation, acting choices and the final performance remain the responsibility of the actor.
12. Responsibility and limitation of liability
Self Tape Partner is provided with the level of care and responsibility required by applicable law. You remain responsible for reviewing your material, protecting your account and ensuring that you are permitted to use uploaded content.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CN Selftape is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived.
13. Privacy and personal data
Information about the collection, use, storage and protection of personal data is provided in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when the service, legal requirements or business operations change.
